Bullying – Are we still beating ourselves up?
Today I visited my daughter’s school. Topic of discussion with the principal, how rumors and gossip are a form of bullying. Handling bullying , in all its forms, is a big topic for schools nowadays. Remember those days when things were said against you and something inside you seemed compelled to defend your character?
Well we all know kids can be cruel, but then, so can adults. And not only to each other, but to ourselves. That internal bully voice that doubts us, scares us and keeps us stuck, now matter the joy in our dream and our desires. We know that small lurking voice can strike at any time, like school bullies seeking attention.
How do we handle the Bully?
Outside bullies can come in many forms, those in our lives that seem to be in competition with us, threatened in some way and wanting to attack because of their own insecurities.
Loved ones, who in an effort to feel in control, emotionally or physically attack then play the ‘but I really love you card’ to throw you off your game and keep you on the dysfunctional playing field.
Bosses that have not learned how to inspire and motivate but rule with threats and demands instead of enrolling conversations and validation.
But then we have our own internal bully that can play all the above roles inside our own mind, pushing us down and keeping us from our own joy and happiness.
Where is your inner saboteur? Your inner bully? Do you have bullies in your life that take advantage of you, harm you, cause you to feel as thought you are going in circles?
Acknowledging the effects of bully energy in our lives is the first step in clearing it out, and freeing us from it’s bondage.
Do you know the effects of bully energy on your happiness, success and health?
Write down a list of ways you are bullied in life, both external and internal, and ask yourself, why did I give my power away to this? What am I to learn?
There is a reason, a purpose and a light at the end of the tunnel. You are powerful, you are lovable, you are worthy of a dynamic joyous life!
