tina thumb Solar Flares Affect Our Dependence on TechnologyRecently I had my hard drive decide it was tired, truth was – it was done and had put in for retirement.  Luckily I back up my computer on a very regular basis and did not lose sleep over not having the data available, but quickly learned that putting things back is not as easy as it sounds.

 We are a culture that is growing increasingly dependent on technology, so much so that a small interruption becomes a nuisance.  Take into account that we are in the middle of a solar storm and that all our radio wave based communications technologies are at risk.
